Speak Now era was probably the most interesting timeline for Taylor Swift and her fans. She was breaking through as a major act around the world and ‘Speak Now’ album and the world tour helped her gain the spotlight of the music world. This was the 2011-2012 period and Taylor was a lot different back then. She was experimenting with Pop, while embracing Country music.
Taylor Swift did a lot of covers back then, and she performed them on tours as well. Her Train cover dates back to the Speak Now era and “Drops Of Jupiter” was performed by her on one of the concerts–an acoustic version of “Drops Of Jupiter” nonetheless.
Taylor Swift Covers “Drops Of Jupiter” by Train, Live and Acoustic During Speak Now World Tour
This performance took place in San Jose, as per the video description.
Taylor’s Country roots are clearly visible on this cover. Her voice is made for Country music. But not in the ‘1989’ era. It’s all about Pop now.
Now that she’s back in the atmosphere
With drops of Jupiter in her hair, hey, hey
She acts like summer and walks like rain
Reminds me that there’s time to change, hey, hey
Since the return from her stay on the moon
She listens like spring and she talks like June, hey, hey
“Drops Of Jupiter” talks about a distant relationship. Now she is back in the scene and it all feels brand new, fresh and blissful all over again. Her movements give him the best feelings he could imagine. Everybody changes in the end. It is just a matter of how well each other can adapt to the changes.
