Eminem got behind the mic for Saturday Night Live (SNL) this week and it was fireworks all around as he performed two of his mega hits “Stan” and “Love the Way You Lie” and his latest single “Walk On Water” from the upcoming album ‘Revival.’ For Em’s female vocal assistance, Skylar Grey joined with him to create this beautiful medley.
Eminem started off the medley with a full rendition of “Walk On Water” which originally features vocals by Beyonce. For this live act on SNL, Skylar Grey filled in and it was quite good. Then Mathers went on to perform the first verse of Stan and Skylar Grey had to fill in for Dido, which again she did successfully. The final part of the medley was the first verse of “Love the Way You Lie” and Skylar had to fill in for Rihanna. All things considered Skylar Grey did an amazing job covering for three of the top female vocalists.
Eminem appeared with his new beard and looking immortal as ever. “Walk On Water” was the most sensitive out of the three songs as he questions himself if whatever he does will ever be enough for the spectators. At the end of the song he reassures himself that he wrote great songs like “Stan” and then “Stan” continues in the medley.
