Throughout the entire debacle of the releasing of the surprise album ‘Kamikaze,’ one thing the fan base missed was the upcoming Eminem production. This is no music video, like “Fall” or “Lucky You” or even “Venom,” which were recently released. This is a movie production and Eminem is the exclusive producer. The new movie ‘Bodied’ is directed by one of the most famous music video directors, Joseph Khan.
The ‘Bodied’ trailer released today shows some hilarious and intense scenes faced by a pale, white boy partaking in the underground art of rap battle. He steps out with his culturally sensitive rhymes and bars and nearly gets a good beating. We cannot help but think if this is a comedic perspective on Slim Shady during his underground rap battle era! We will never know.
The movie is set out to release on YouTube Originals-a platform dedicated to directors and producers to put out their creative work such as movies to a premium following. What is ‘Bodied’ About?
“Bodied” is a go-for-the-jugular, hilarious look inside the competitive world of rap battles. Berkeley grad student Adam Merkin (Calum Worthy; “American Vandal,” “Austin & Ally”) gets sucked into the game after meeting icon Behn Grym (Jackie Strong; BET’s “Real Husbands of Hollywood”) and accidentally competing in—and winning—his first battle. Rising through the ranks of the battle scene with his provocative insults, Adam alienates his academic buddies, uptight girlfriend, and literary professor father (Anthony Michael Hall).
An accidental win for this white boy sets him on an upward spiral in the underground battle rap scene. The twists and turns and the real hustles unravel as he progresses. However, the producers have managed to keep a comedic light on the movie throughout.
‘Bodied’ means to get put in a body bag, which in turn means to be dead. Rap battle is brutal and it kills.

Many speculations have started rising if Eminem himself will be making a cameo in this movie. It would be seeing the Rap God in his natural element. We will keep looking for hints in the next possible trailers to come.
