New collaboration track with Selena Gomez is titled “We Don’t Talk Anymore” and is a nice paced-down track featuring some nice vocals by the duo. We should say, their voices sync up quite nicely.

There isn’t much to be analysed as in the lyrics-sense, since the lyrics are pretty self-explanatory.

I just heard you found the one you’ve been looking
You’ve been looking for
I wish I would have known that wasn’t me
‘Cause even after all this time I still wonder
Why I can’t move on
Just the way you did so easily

The verse speaks of a classical fall out situation between a guy and a girl. Apparently, the girl had moved on to another guy-the ‘one’ she had been looking for. And for some reason, the guy had believed it was him. But when the ‘one’ turns out to be not him, he’s hurt and he cannot move on.

Don’t wanna know
What kind of dress you’re wearing tonight
If he’s holding onto you so tight
The way I did before
I overdosed
Should’ve known your love was a game
Now I can’t get you out of my brain

After the fall-out comes the hardest part-the wondering, questioning and self-torture. The one left broken-hearted suffers day in day out wondering what the other one is doing. It is worse if he knows that she is already daring.

I just hope you’re lying next to somebody
Who knows how to love you like me
There must be a good reason that you’re gone
Every now and then I think you
Might want me to come show up at your door
But I’m just too afraid that I’ll be wrong

Selena Gomez too joins in on the wondering game. She wonders if he wants her back. But she is too afraid to make a move think that she might be wrong. None of them are bold enough to do anything about the fall-out. It’s such a shame it is.

A nice melody, beat and simple lyrics take “We Don’t Talk Anymore” to a whole other level of adorableness.
