Cody Simpson Covers “Burn One Down” & “Redemption Song”

Cody Simpson shows his vocal powers in this acoustic covers done of some nice music from the 80’s and the 90’s. “Burn One Down” is a popular hit by Ben Harper from 1995 and “Redemption Song” is one of the greatest tracks by the late great Bob Marley from 1980. Combine these two into one acoustic music video and you have a nice great bridge between two decades of amazing music.

The two songs have entirely different tones and subjects. “Burn One Down” goes something like this;

If you don’t like my fire
then don’t come around
cause I’m gonna burn one down
yes I’m gonna burn one down

Whereas, “Redemption Song” goes;

Won’t you help to sing
These songs of freedom?
‘Cause all I ever have:
Redemption songs;
Redemption songs;
Redemption songs.

One thing common with these two songs is how simple and humble they are. How peaceful the lyrics are and how the artists tried to convey something important to the world. This trend is ceasing from the music world, except for a few exceptions.

However, Cody Simpson, in my opinion, does a brilliant job remaking these classics in acoustic music.
