“Fractions” Lyrics Meaning and Song Review

In the only verse of the song, Nicki Minaj sings about how she has no competitors in the industry, even though many claim to have taken the #1 spot in female rap and hip-hop. She says that female rappers act like they want some action with her, but as soon as they set to their studios and put out some music, it becomes clear why Nicki is the queen.

Then I’ma line ’em like fractions

In mathematics, a fraction is a part of a whole number. For example, 0.5 is a fraction of the whole number 1 divided by 2. The idea behind this line and the song title is that, if someone tries to go against Nicki, she will make sure that her opponents are reduced to a fraction of what they were before.

Nicki Minaj does not forget to flex in the verse. She boasts about her pink Lamborghini Aventador that she bought in 2013 for an estimated $400,000.

She also boasts about spending $2 million to party in the clubs in Saudi Arabia. Although this claim is unverified, Saudi Arabia is known to be a party city, and they have no lack of money.

Nicki Minaj also nods to the first female vice president of America, Kamala Harris, whom she supported during her and President Joe Biden’s campaign. Nicki also plays on Biden’s name saying “bitin’ like Joe.”

Nicki Minaj reverts back to the topic of her competition and says that she has no intention of fighting anymore. She realizes that the Queen doesn’t fight with every person who raises a torch against her. She sat back and watched to see an appropriate opponent fight through the crowds. But all she saw were some talentless singers humiliating themselves in any way possible for some clout. She is disgraced.

Nicki rather sit back and count her millions…
