Upcoming movie ‘Birds Of Prey’ is set to have a vibrant music track with the contribution of artists such as Megan Thee Stallion, Halsey, Lauren Jauregui, Summer Walker, Doja Cat and more. As each song releases off the OST, we do realize why these artists are a perfect match for the chaos of Harley Quinn. Because they are; “Boss B*tch.”
‘Birds Of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)‘ is an American superhero movie based on the character of Harley Quinn, the supervillain counterpart of The Joker from the DC Batman series. This movie is a followup to DC’s 2016 movie ‘Suicide Squad’ which also focused a lot on Harley Quinn. The famed actress Margot Robbie, who played Harley Quinn in ‘Suicide Squad’ will also depict the role in ‘Birds Of Prey.’ The movie is set to screen on February 7, 2020.
On “Boss B*tch” by Doja Cat, the rapper tells us about who is boss! But she is not a boss because she has too much bling on her, but because she is truly bad! The Jack Begert-directed music video also features Margot Robbie, who plays Harley Quinn in the movie, in her character.

Verse 1
Doja Cat starts off the verse by saying that she is not like anyone else out there. She is not one to imitate others and scam off their fame. She admits that she is clumsy and this has lead to her kissing the floor a few times. But she is bada*s. She recalls to her debut single “So High” and calls it a bop. And she is not just the cake, but the cherry on top as well.
Shaking up a bottle to pop usually happens with carbonated drink bottles, which when shaken up the gas guzzles out the bottle cap. In the context of the song, Doja Cat may be referring to her skills that shook up the music game and made her pop or a superstar overnight.
Pre-chorus-1
In these lyrics, Doja Cat shouts out to another boss b*tch in the game-Nicki Minaj. Kenneth is Nicki Minaj’s husband and Nicki Minaj prefers calling herself ‘barbie.’
Backbend is a gymnastic move where the spine is bent backwards so that the person can touch their own feet. This may be a shoutout to Harley Quinn who is known for her flexible moves in her fights.
“Wrist full of rocks and I hope I float” contains a double entendre. In the literal sense, this refers to the ancient way of killing people by drowning. To make the body grounded in the water, the person’s clothes are filled with heavy rocks or the body will be tied to a heavy rock. However, Doja Cat also could be alluding to diamonds (‘rocks’) on her wrists which makes her float and gloat above everyone else.
Chorus
These boppy lines emphasize the title of the song.
Verse 2
In the second verse of “Boss B*tch,” Doja Cat maybe calling out Megan Thee Stallion who is also featured on the ‘Birds Of Prey’ OST on a track titled “Diamonds.” However, Doja Cat calls herself the stallion, a powerful horse, whereas her competition is merely a seahorse!
Doja Cat is so boss that none of her pictures are bad ones. Even the bad ones earn her press, so in the celebrity world, this is good for business. This could be a reference to the time when Doja Cat went viral for her “bad wig” pictures.
