For 2019, Troye Sivan reminds us that same-sex love is still valid and relevant. He does so by releasing a brand new music video for his song “Lucky Strike” from his 2018 album ‘Bloom.’
The new music video is quite aesthetic. There are no scenes that are too cringe or rough on the eyes. Even a perfectly heterosexual person could enjoy this video in its entirety without any remorse. Troye Sivan looks absolutely beautiful, in his red and white striped shirt, a nose ring and his noodle-hair. His crush is a hunk, with tattoos and an unbuttoned denim t-shirt. For Troye, it’s love at first sight.
The bartender from “Lucky Strike” music video is identified as Brandon Good. He is a male model for clothing lines. You can check more of his photos on his official Instagram profile that has quite a following.
The lyrics to “Lucky Strike” talk about how head-over-heels Troye Sivan feels about his crush. The sight of him hits like a dose of ‘dopamine’ in Troye’s body. There are more vivid things Troye sings about he wants to do with the chiselled body of Brendon Good; like “skip stones on your skin boy.”
The video also features a fake, beating heart, which Brendon Good squeezes into Troye’s drink like a lemon. This could mean either love or heartache. But seeing as though Troye’s t-shirt gets soaked in blood at the exact moment the bartender does that, we can assume that Troye’s heart aches for this male goddess.
