This new upbeat track takes on the post-modern love and sings about how broken we all are in love. Talking to iHeartRadio, Dominic explained what this song means to him;
“The song tells the story of a perfect tragedy that reflects modern love within our society. We are so distracted and focused on what’s next, we can fail to see what is actually in front of us. We don’t realize how much we need something until it’s taken away from us.”

The song is about how the post-modern relationships are too distorted and ditracted with what is really going on in the present. Granted, that all lives have become increasingly ‘busy’ and distracted with many temporary pleasures. It is often easy to go astray and lose what is really important and more permanent things in your life.
Most likely, Generation Z, termed as the Millenials, are subject to this kind of love tragedies. We are too distracted by eeverything around us, that we have lose touch with our inner selves and become zombies when it comes to showing emotions. WhatsApp-ing, Tweet-ing, and Skype-ing has become the mode of connection and Halsey asks why you aren’t here when she is only ’11 minutes’ away from her house. This song is a modern-day tragic love story and we are all part of it.
In the refrain of the song, YUNGBLUD sings of the duality of relationships these days. A partner could very well be the ‘best’ and the ‘worst’ ever, because we have different personalities in real life and online…
