Normani Creates “Waves” of Emotions with 6LACK in New Video (Lyrics Review)

Normani has finally released the much-anticipated music video for her first solo track “Waves.” The song features vocals by rapper 6LACK as well. The song released in November 2018, finally has a new music video–shot in space!

Since the fall out of Fifth Harmony all-girl group, each member has gone their separate ways kicking off their solo careers. The first member to jump ship was Camila Cabello and the music industry needs no introduction for her. Lauren Jauregui kicked off her career with sultry new singles and videos for “Expectations” and “More Than That.” Before her own single, Normani did collaborate with Sam Smith for “Dancing With a Stranger” and “Slow Down” with Calvin Harris.

In the new single “Waves,” Normani Kordei sings about the back-and-forth relationship that she is experiencing just as how ocean waves break on the sand. In an interview with Billboard, Normani explained her vision behind this song;

“I feel like we’re taking a different direction, especially musically in the R&B space. And I think that “Waves” definitely does set the tone for the direction that we are taking.”
