Logic – Bohemian Trapsody (Lyrics Review and Song Meaning)

“Bohemian Trapsody” is the first track on the surprise album ‘Supermarket’ Soundtrack by Logic released on March 26, 2019. The album accompanies Logic AKA Bobby Hall’s first ever book publication titled ‘Supermarket,’ a young adult thriller.

The 13-track album contains some impressive works by the Maryland rapper Logic. The album also features a handful of songs which crosses genres from rap to trap to hip-hop to ballads.

This particular track “Bohemian Trapsody” is a spin on possibly the most famous Rock ballad in music history–“Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen. However, the two songs have very little in common, except for the fact that both songs clock over 6 minutes in playtime. The word “Trapsody” has been added most likely due to the nature of trap music in this track by Logic.

The beat on this song is a smooth flowing trap beat which would allude to the mind on a state of hallucination, as the lyrics suggest. The lyrics also confess the singer’s love for a woman whom he has strong feelings for.

Logic confesses his love for a girl in this trap-ballad fusion “Bohemian Trapsody.” He talks about how she makes him break inside everytime he falls in love with her. And his love has him risking everything he has at a chance of getting her.

The “piece of earth” Logic ignites at night should be a reference to smoking weed. The high from weed makes him feel like a satellite drifting through the space, uncontrollably. This state of mind gets him thinking about the girl and it breaks him down that he cannot have her for some reason.

The outro of “Bohemian Trapsody” is as clear as day. Logic straight-up tells us that he is in a state of high or elevated from the weed he smoked. His creativity escalated and so did his thought process of his problems, including the girl. The high has him coming up with some crazy new ideas for his music that he calls himself an ‘innovator.’ In the last line of the song, Logic plays on words to send a message that weed should be legalized through a legislation!
