“Lotus Inn” is the third track on Why Don’t We’s upcoming 2021 album ‘The Good Times and The Bad Ones.’ A lot of prep work went into releasing this promotional track as the group sent out postcards to fans, create a new Instagram account, and also a new website dedicated to this track. The website teased lyrics of the song and the release date, December 4, 2020.
‘The Good Times and The Bad Ones’ is the second studio album by the American boy band Why Don’t We. As of now, only one single off the album has been released, titled “Fallin’ (Adrenaline)” on September 29, 2020. The album is scheduled to release on January 15, 2021.

“Lotus Inn” Lyrics Meaning and Song Review
The Why Don’t We boys are enjoying a good drink and a dance at the infamous Lotus Inn. They catch a glimpse of a girl looking at them from across the dance floor. The boys realize it was no mistake as her intentions are clear in her eyes; “I think we both know how this night’s gonna end.”
This was not part of the plan for neither of the boys for the night. But this is a welcomed detour!
The boy is tranced by her looks and the way her body moves on the dance floor. Why Don’t We wishes the Sun would look away (go down) so they can hide away into the darkness of the night.
The night turns into pure ecstasy and the boys want to re-live it all over again.
The Lotus Inn is made for travelers who are “looking to find yourself or looking for a good time” and promises to “make your stay with us a night to remember.”
In the second verse of the song, Why Don’t We sing about playing this song over and over again even before it released. While this could allude to the ongoing storyline of the song, where the girl might have loved this song, it has a different backstory too. Christian Seavey, Daniel Seavey’s brother, talked about the song and it’s connection to their late friend Corey La Barrie, who passed away in May 2020; “[this song] is so close to my heart, because Corey and I, every time we drove home from anywhere, he would always be like, “Christian, play ‘Lotus Inn,’ man!” … And he would scream that shit in the back. Corey kinda wanted to be a singer, and he used to talk to Daniel about it all the time, it was the cutest thing. But he would belt “Lotus Inn” and I loved it.”
The lyrics of the second verse also shout out to their album titles, but it fits perfectly to the context of the song as well.
Despite the few bad days, at the Lotus Inn or even in life in general, we always push through thinking about the many good days.
