“Halley’s Comet” Lyrics Meaning and Song Review

Discovered by Edmond Halley, the ‘Hallye’s Comet‘ is a comet that comes close to the Earth every 75 – 76 years, hence lucky individuals can catch this comet twice in their lifetime. This is not a lot! So, Billie Eilish uses this as a benchmark to tell us how often she can get a break from everything going on in her life.

But she does have one exception.

But you’re all it takes for me to break a promise

Billie Eilish tries to tell us that she does not need him in her life. But she knows better. She knows she is lying. In her dreams, when she can’t lie, she enjoys her time with him. When someone makes more than a few appearances in your dreams, it tells you that you are probably thinking a little more than normal about them.

Billie recalls all the late nights she has spent working on the album with her brother FINNEAS. She did not mind those late nights because 3 a.m. actually worked for her crush.

The more she thinks about him, the more she falls for him. She doesn’t like it. But she seems to have lost control at this point.
