Taylor Swift 1989 Welcome To New York

Taylor Swift Announces “Welcome To New York” Third Single From 1989 [30 Second Preview]

As another track name from the leaked 1989 track list gets confirmed, Taylor Swift announced the third single from the upcoming ‘1989‘ album. This time Taylor Swift was quite direct and gave all the information right off the bat. This is the first track of the 1989 album.

NEW SONG ALERT! #WelcomeToNewYork will be available TONIGHT to everyone who has pre-ordered 1989 on iTunes! Watch the announcement on Good Morning America!

This was published on her Facebook fan page along with this bit of the announcement made in Good Morning America.

Doesn’t she look flawless?

Taylor had quite a lot to say about the upcoming single. Welcome To New York is directly from her personal life.

“It’s the story of my life in the past couple of years.”

It was a big change moving to New York from her little hometowns of Pennsylvania and Nashville. So this marks a drastic change in her life. She goes on to say how she wanted so badly to move to new York City.

“I dreamt about moving to New York, I obsessed over moving to New York, and then I did it,”

Just like anybody else experiencing New York City, Taylor too is overwhelmed by the ‘inspiration’ the city has to offer.

“It’s like an electric city…”

Taylor Swift adds on,

“and I approached moving there with such wide-eyed optimism and sort of saw it as a place of endless potential and possibilities, and you can kind of hear that reflected in this music and in this first song specially.”

I have no doubt it is going to be an ‘electrifying’ song. Besides Taylor Swift, one other reason I am saying this is because ‘Welcome To New York’ has been co-written by Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic. For those who don’t know him–he is an amazing lyricist.
