Karen Gillan performing Chandelier on Selfie

Beautiful Cover of “Chandelier” by Karen Gillan on ‘Selfie’

I’m kind of glad that I came across ABC’s ‘Selfie‘ TV series, just because I was able to find out how talented Karen Gillan (Eliza Dooley) and John Cho (Henry Higgs) are in singing. It’s tragic that the show was cancelled after one season. Episode 10 of Selfie, ‘Imperfect Harmony’ gave us a little insight to some quality singing, which most TV shows look over.

With a broken heart, Karen Gillan sings Sia’s “Chandelier” and it is pretty epic. She gets very emotional on the performance. On the episode it looks like she is lip syncing, probably because the acting and voice recording were done at two separate occasions.

Eliza Dooley (Karen Gillan) sings “Chandelier” halfway through it’s chorus and it morphs in to the original version performed by Sia. Kind of gives chills to hear Sia performing the song, while ‘Selfie’ goes on to show how Eliza puts on a fake smile at the party, broken inside.

Watch Karen Gillan Perform “Chandelier” on ‘Selfie”

At the end of the episode only one person has not gone up stage on ‘Annual Karaoke Night’ of the office. So Henry Higgs (John Cho) takes the stage to perform “Wild World” by Cat Stevens. And it is beautiful. Never knew that crazy guy, Harold, from ‘Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle’ could sing live this good. Take a look at his performance below.

What do you think? Were these performances quite shocking?

I was able to immensely enjoy these two cover versions, and I hope you did too. If you did, make sure to leave a comment.
