Taylor Swift Portrays Harley Quinn, Wears Bondage Gear in “Look What You Made Me Do” Video (Review)

Taylor Swift is really waking up from the dead in newly released “Look What You Made Me Do” music video. The new video off of upcoming ‘Reputation‘ album was unveiled at 2017 MTV VMAs tonight and this truly turns a new chapter for Taylor Swift. The music video is dark and twisted as we expected, but Taylor still keeps it PG13. Above anything else, Taylor is trying portray a “crazy” side to her personality in the video. This symbolizes that she is taking on the hate comments that she has been called over the years.

Several scenes do take shots at some of the artists in the industry, and some for what we don’t even know. One scene shows where Taylor Swift is in an accident in a gold Lamborghini with a tiger in the shot-gun seat. This is a clear hint at The Weeknd’s “Starboy” music video, where Abel rides with a Black Panther.

Taylor Swift clearly portrays Harley Quinn in “Look What You Made Me Do” video. The drinking-tea-inside-a-metal-jail and the-baseball-bat scene are clearly from the ‘Suicide Squad’ movie and are used to show the crazy side of Harley Quinn. So Taylor Swift must be trying to convey the message that goodie Taylor Swift is gone and the crazy one is here.

Further, Taylor Swift dresses in latex and bondage equipment to show a very sadistic side to the new Taylor. She has a whip in her hand and looks as if she is ready to punish.

The snake queen references are abundant throughout the “Look What You Made Me Do” music video.
