After touring around the world with Taylor Swift on her ‘Reputation Tour,’ Charli XCX is finally back on her ow career. She released the “5 In The Morning” promotional single on the same day which Taylor Swift kicked started the ‘Reputation Tour’ in Glendale, Arizona on May 8, 2018. The song was an instant hit!
Earlier this month, Charli XCX revealed her new year’s resolution for 2019. She posted a picture of her new year’s resolution which was only two lines: “make an album, release it” were her goals and she is on the right path. The R&B tuned “5 In The Morning” single got its own music video on June 27, 2018.
While we eagerly await the release of the 2019 album by Charli XCX, the 26-year-old released the first single off of the album titled “1999” featuring Troye Sivan.
“5 In The Morning” is a song about being second to none–not even your lover. She talks about how well off she is independently and is not impressed by gold and diamonds flashed by someone. The music video is a fuzzy haze of dimmed lights, strobe lights and some exotic poses by Charli XCX.
