‘No.6 Collaborations Project‘ follows Ed’s collaborations EP series, left off at #5 in 2011. The 2019 album contains a massive list of collaborations from Cardi B, Eminem, 50 Cent, Bruno Mars, Skrillex, Khalid, Travis Scott, Stormzy, Justin Bieber, Meek Mill and more. In an interview with Charmalagne Tha God, Ed Sheeran called this album a ‘compilation of artist that he is a fan of.’
Ed Sheeran released the song on June 28, 2019 along with a brand new music video. The song talks about two people who do not fit in with the ‘cool’ and ‘hip’ culture of today. But they find each other and love each other even more being the ‘misfits’ of the society. The lyrics say that “we are not beautiful people,” possibly taking on the idea of beautiful looks and outer appearances which are only skin deep.
The music video shows a random couple being selected to spend a few days among the ‘party people.’ In these few days and nights, they do not fit in with the cool culture at all. They stick to their natural behaviour and enjoy being themselves. There are a lot of beautiful and hot models involved in this music video.

Ed Sheeran sings about how ‘fake’ some people live their lives just to impress others. “Lamborghinis and their rented Hummers” represent a social class which these people could not afford. And it is easy for someone to get lost among all this glitz and glamour. Only those with a strong will power shall prevail this test.
In the chorus, Ed Sheeran further emphasizes what kind of lives these people lead. Their riches are fake, their ‘cool’ is made up, their homes are broken, families are dysfunctional and their future bleak at best. Khalid’s second verse on “Beautiful People,” says that if you have your significant other by your side, that is all that matters. But do pray that you find your perfect match.
Throughout the song, Ed Sheeran emphasizes on the fact that they are not beautiful people. In this instance, these are the people who look gorgeous, on the outside. Ed Sheeran sets himself apart from this flock, because he is beautiful on the inside.
