The visible lyrics to the track seem to be penning her gratitude for her lover for loving her and making it seem so easy as well. Undoubtedly, this is a love song, and we are yet to find out if it is about her new boyfriend and makeout partner Shawn Mendes.

“Easy” comes as the fourth single on Camila’s upcoming album ‘Romance,’ following “Shameless,” Liar” and “Cry For Me.” The new album is expected in late 2019 or early 2020.

Camila Cabello shared her own thoughts on the song with its release; “I wrote this song about the kind of love that makes you love yourself more , I think before you open up to someone you always feel scared that once they see all the stuff you don’t like about yourself , all the things you’re insecure about, that they won’t like you anymore – and when someone sees those things and loves you not only in spite of them, but because of them, it makes you feel truly seen for who you are, and loved for who you are too ❤️.”

“Easy” is not a song about blindly falling in love with another person. Camila sings this song about her boyfriend who sees her flaws and accepts them. He sees Camila’s traits such as “complicated,” “indecisive” and “fickle” and he is okay with them. He is at peace with these ‘flaws’ of Camila than spending a single day with a “perfect” human being.

The pre-chorus, too, suggests that love is a lot more about understanding each other than weighing ‘good’ over ‘bad’ traits of a person. Nobody is perfect, so why waste your time in searching for one. Perfection in another person is achieved when you see and accept their bends, twists and cracks.

The second verse highlights two ‘flaws’ Camila Cabello knows she has. Her crooked teeth and the stretch marks on her thighs are two things she is insecure about. But her boyfriend absolutely adores them to the point that the flaws are his favourite things about her.

In seeing and accepting these flaws of one another only the relationship becomes ‘perfect’ to its truest meaning.
