Reply – A Boogie Wit da Hoodie Ft. Lil Uzi Vert (Stream, Lyrics & Meaning)

Marking their first-ever collaboration A Boogie Wit da Hoodie and Lil Uzi Vert dropped a brand new track titled “Reply.” This new track is all about the texting culture in relationships in the 21st Century, and one we can all relate to.

“Reply” appears in Boogie’s upcoming album ‘Artist 2.0.’ following its predecessor ‘Artist’ released in 2016. The new album is expected towards the end of 2019.

Produced by JoeFromYO and Go Grizzly, “Reply” talks about being in touch with their partners. However, the intentions behind these text messages are not entirely sincere. “And I can see all them lies in your eyes/But I’m no different, selling dreams for tonight,” sings Lil Uzi Vert in the first verse of the song, hinting that neither of them is up to any good.

Even though the song speaks of communication, after a night of intimate pleasures, the singers talk about cutting all the ties. They just walk their separate ways. Listen to the track next.

In the chorus by A Boogie Wit da Hoodie, the singer talks about being a man of the night. This largely alludes to being a person who is only there for sexual pleasures. He does not hold back on telling her girl that he is not the type of man for her life.

Being artists of major calibre, both Boogie and Uzi Vert may find it very difficult to get into long term relationships. Many women would be out there to take advantage of them and it is always not easy to spot them. But when they do spot them, these artists are up to their games as well. They know how to sell a dream for the night!

In the second verse by Lil Uzi Vert, he talks about ‘taming’ the girl. She doesn’t seem to know the rules of the game, says Uni, because she had no father figure growing up. He is referring to the classic ‘daddy issues’ kind of girl. But he is willing to take her up and make her his queen. But she has got to learn the rules of the game and rise to be his one and only partner in life.

The third verse of “Reply” by Uzi talks about his vision of their relationship. Scallop dinners and a toddler by their side when they go out. But if he tries to play with other men, he is gone for good.

A Boogie Wit da Hoodie returns for an additional fourth verse on “Reply.” In these lyrics, he carries off Uzi’s torch from where he left off, stating that he agrees with Uzi. Both these artists know what they have a wild girl on their hands and it is going to take some work to make her docile.
