“Bed Chem” is the sixth track on Sabrina’s 2024 album ‘Short n’ Sweet.’ As the title suggests, the song is about good chemistry between two people in the confines of their bed — a not-so-thinly veiled hint at sex brimming with passion.
Sabrina Carpenter had her most successful album to date with ‘Short n’ Sweet’ which included hits such as “Please Please Please” and “Espresso.” The album went #1 in the USA, Canada, New Zealand, UK, Australia, and more – a first for Sabrina’s career. Her previous project was ‘Emails I Can’t Send’ released in July 2022.
Sabrina explained how she came about creating “Bed Chem” track with her friend; “There was a lot of steam in the studio. It was real hot and heavy. No, I’m kidding. My friend Paloma [Sandoval] and I coined the term [‘bad chem’]. I went to the studio that day and was like, ‘I have this title and idea, and we have to make it sexy and a little bit unserious at the same time because it is such a ridiculous concept.”
