Taylor Swift Teases Upcoming “Ready For It” Single from ‘Reputation’

Taylor Swift’s first single off of ‘Reputation’ smashed all kinds of streaming and sales records and we would not expect anything less from the follow up single. There might not be ‘playing around the bush’ for the release of the next single, as Taylor A full minute of her new song, “Ready for It,” plays in the teaser which was used as a theme song leading into the Florida State vs. Alabama football game on ESPN.

The follow up single to “Look What You Made Me Do” has a very different tone to its predecessor. While LWYMMD sound more like Grunge, new song “Ready For It” finds Taylor Swift back in Pop. The song has a uplifting tune and lyrics appropriate for that. The song seems to be describing about a blooming romance.

Listen to Snippet of “Ready For It” by Taylor Swift

In the middle of the night, in my dreams (my dreams)
You should see the things we do (we do), baby (baby, mmm)
In the middle of the night in my dreams (my dreams)
I know I’m gonna be with you
So, I take my time
In the middle of the night

In “Ready For It,” Taylor Swift finds herself thinking about her lover in the middle of the night. She is ready for the game of love and she is wondering if he is. Through some strange feeling, the singer knows she will end up with this guy of his dreams, so she is not pushing anything.

From “Look What You Made Me Do” to “Ready For It,” Taylor Swift is taking a massive change of tune and pace and this tells us ‘Reputation’ is going to be a roller-coaster ride. Still, nothing has been officially confirmed as to if this new song is a part of the upcoming album.

I-I-I see how this is gonna go
Touch me and you’ll never be alone
I-Island breeze, lights down low
No one has to know

“Ready For It” is a lot more happy track than LWYMMD, singing about sparks of a new relationship and candle-lit dinners by the shore.
