Bruno Mars has taken it on him to remix a song from his 2016 album ’24K Magic’ and who else would do the part better than Cardi B herself! Cardi B has been on a role since her #1 hit “Bodak Yellow,” as she has collaborated with Nicki Minaj, G-Eazy and more. She is on a roll, so why not try to add a little bartier-cardi touch to a song titled “Finesse.” As expected the remix came out great and the music video is as entertaining as ever.
The remix has reached #3 on Billboard Hot 100 chart and the music video has gained over 100 million views on YouTube alone.
In the “Finesse” music video we are seen Bruno Mars, Cardi B and the whole dance crew wearing bright colours in 90’s styles and this was in memory of the 90’s American comedy TV series ‘In Living Color’ headlined by Jim Carrey.

Bruno Mars spoke about how the remix came out to be with Cardi B:
I met cardi B at 3 am after my show in LA backstage where we recorded her verse for Finesse. She walked in the room and she was everything I’d hope she’d be. Never change cardi! Don’t let this crazy music business change who you are. You posses something that can’t be taught. You’re a true star. Thank you for putting your energy and love all over this record and video.
Lyrics Review and Song Meaning of “Finesse (Remix)”
“Finesse” is another word for perfection. In this song Bruno Mars and Cardi B talk about a relationship and lifestyle that is in perfection in their eyes as well as others’. Cardi B has been singing about her new-found luxuries in her latest songs and so she is a perfect addition this track as well.
Let us go through some of the lyrics-especially Cardi B’s verse.
Verse 1: Cardi B
Drop top Porsche (Porsche), Rollie’ on my wrist (wrist)
Diamonds up and down my chain (aha)
Cardi B talks about the luxuries of this finesse life. Porsche cars and Rolex wrist watches are all high-end brands. She loves her diamonds. She has been gifted with a $500,000 diamond engagement ring by her fiance-Offset.
Cardi B, straight stuntin’, can’t tell me nothin’
Bossed up and I changed the game (you see me?)
It’s my big Bronx boogie, got all them girls shook (shook)
My big, fat ass got all them boys hooked (hooked)
I went from dollar bills, now we poppin’ rubber bands (ha)
Cardi B has seen a severe change in lifestyle in the past few years. She has been a stripper since the age of 19 and she has been working on music on and off. Finally, with the global hit “Bodak Yellow” she said goodbye to her stripping career and now has a net-worth of 4.5 million. Cardi B has a curvaceous body and she is not shy to flaunt it. As a stripper she was counting 1 dollar bills and now she is staking money in rubber bands-reminding of the drug kingpin Pablo Escobar.
Bruno sang to me, while I do my money dance like ayy
Flexin’ on the ‘Gram like ayy
Hit the Lil’ Jon, okay (okay), okay (okay)
Cardi B says Bruno reached out to her about the remix while she was doing her “money dance” which is a term appearing in her hit single “Bodak Yellow.” Cardi B is quite popular on Instagram platform with a following of 16.7 million. She is also giving a shout out to rapper Lil’ Jon.
Oh yeah, we drippin’ in finesse and getting paid, ow
Cardi B changes the tune of the entire song with this line. Originally, the song is about how a couple looks so fine and perfect together. Cardi B goes on to say they are dripping in fine-ness and getting paid for it. Now it becomes about their careers and money as well.
When asked Bruno Mars about what ‘dripping in finesse means’ he replied;
If you don’t know, I’m afraid you’ll never know. Good luck Kyle. I Wish you all the best. https://t.co/BoBlvSt92X

Verse 2: Bruno Mars
Ooh, don’t we look good together?
There’s a reason why they watch all night long (all night long)
Yeah, I know we’ll turn heads forever (forever)
So tonight, I’m gonna show you off
The rest of the verses from the original “Finesse” talk about a relationship. It talks about such a matching couple that everybody loves to look at and makes them turn their heads. Bruno is eager to show her off as well.
Chorus: Bruno Mars
We out here drippin’ in finesse
It don’t make no sense
Out here drippin’ in finesse
You know it, you know it
To drip in finesse one has to be soaked in finesse. Finesse is born from fine-ness. It means to be perfect or the best at something. So Bruno Mars and Cardi B call themselves so perfect in something. What is it? Take a guess.
