Best Upcoming Music Albums of 2019

2018 has been an active year for music. We witnessed birth of new music, new artists and deaths of artists, wins, losses and heartbreaks.

In 2018, Camila Cabello released her debut solo album ‘Camila,’ Fall Out Boy released their seventh studio album ‘Mania,’ Migos rap group released their third studio album ‘Culture II,’ Justin Timberlake released his fifth studio album ‘Man of the Woods,’ Calum Scott released his debut studio album ‘Only Human,’ XXXTentacion released two albums titled ‘?’ and ‘SKINS‘ respectively, Cardi B released her debut studio album ‘Invasion of Privacy,’ Eminem released ‘Kamikaze‘ which fueled an intense rap feud between the Rap God and Machine Gun Kelly. We lost XXXTentacion and Mac Miller, we lost Aretha Franklin and Avicii.

Here’s to hoping 2019 will be a blissful year for music, and these upcoming album by some of the best artists in the industry gives us a lot of hope.

Most Awaited Upcoming Albums of 2019

January 2019

(01) Jack & Jack – A Good Friend Is Nice
At the start of 2019-January 11th, we will get to listen to the debut studio album by the rap duo Jack & Jack. The album’s lead single “No One Compares to You” was released on October 5, 2018.

(02) Backstreet Boys – DNA
More excitement in 2019 as Backstreet Boys are ready to drop their ninth studio album titled ‘DNA’ on January 25th. We have already got two singles off this album titled “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart” and “Chances” released in May and November 2018 respectively.

(03) Meghan Trainor – Treat Myself
January 25, 2019, is going to be an active day for music as pop star Meghan Trainor also preps to release her third studio album ‘Treat Myself.’ She released two singles “No Excuses” and “Let You Be Right” and a promotional single “Can’t Dance” all in 2018.

(04) Rudimental – Toast to Our Differences
The drummer group Rudimental is releasing their third studio album on, yet again, January 25th, 2019. The album consists of 16 songs on the deluxe edition and features artists such as Anne-Marie, Jess Glynne, Macklemore, James Arthur, Rita Ora, Stefflon Don and more. We have already seen videos for his singles such as “Let Me Live” and “Sun Comes Up” from this album.

February 2019

(05) Within Temptation – Resist
The Dutch metal band will be releasing their seventh studio album ‘Resist’ on February 1, 2019. The album was scheduled to be released in December 2018 but got pushed back further. Three singles “The Reckoning,” “Raise Your Banner” and “Firelight” were released in September and November 2018. Within Temptation are making a come back after their 2014 album ‘Hydra.’

(06) Avril Lavigne – Head Above Water
The 34-year-old Avril is making a strong comeback after beating her illness that consumed her music career for the past 4 years. She released “Head Above Water” single in 2018 talking about what kept her going throughout her fight with Lyme disease. The new 6th studio album is set to release on February 15, 2019.

(07) Florida Georgia Line – Can’t Say I Ain’t Country
Florida Georgia Line will be releasing their massive 20-track album ‘Can’t Say I Ain’t Country’ on February 15th as well. The album premiered two singles “Simple” and “Talk You Out of It,” and a promotional single “Meant to Be” featuring Bebe Rexha, but we are yet to see the features such as Jason Derulo and Jason Aldean on the album.

March 2019

(08) Dido – Still On My Mind
The fifth studio album by English singer Dido comes after 6 years since her last album ‘Girl Who Got Away’ from 2013. Dido premiered two singles “Hurricanes” and “Friends” as singles from the upcoming album.

(09) Lana Del Rey – Norman Fucking Rockwell
Lana Del Rey is about to release her sixth studio album with the producer Jack Antonoff. Lana talked about the inspiration behind the album title and title track in an interview with Beats 1 Radio;

“Working with Jack, I was in a little bit of a lighter mood because he was so funny.. So the title track is called “Norman Fucking Rockwell” and it’s kind of about this guy who is such a genius artist but he thinks he’s the shit and he knows it and he like won’t shut up talking about it. So often I ended up with these creative types or whatever, and you know, they just go on and on about themselves, and I’m like, “Yeah, yeah.” But there’s a little bit of merit to it also.”

This album is set to release in March 29, 2019. Lana released “Venice Bitch” single from the album in October 2018.

April 2019

(10) Rammstein – TBA
German band Rammstein has announced their upcoming seventh studio album to be released in April 2019. However, no album title or specific release date has been announced yet. They are making a return to music almost after 10 years from their last studio album ‘Liebe ist für alle da’ released in 2009. However, the band has been touring almost every year since.

May 2019

(11) The 1975 – Notes on a Conditional Form
The English pop rock band has announced their fourth studio album to be released in an unspecified date in May 2019. This upcoming album is a quick follow-up to their third studio album ‘A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships’ released in November 2018.
