Mike Posner Tells His Story in “Move On” (Lyrics Review and Song Meaning)

The “I Took A Pill In Ibiza” hit-maker returns after almost 2 years of hiatus to tell his personal life story of ups and downs since that 2016 hit. In this new single and video titled “Move On,” Posner talks about the highlights of his life since “I Took A Pill In Ibiza” threw him under a major spotlight. Besides his career success, “Move On” reveals a lot of the ‘downs’ in his personal life.

“Move On” reveals several tragic situations he had to face from 2016 to 2019. He reveals that his father got a brain cancer and passed away. He confesses that he still cries over him sometimes. He broke up with his girlfriend, stating “it’s hard to be a boyfriend when you’re sad.”

He reminisces on the passing of DJ Avicii, whom he references in “I Took A Pill In Ibiza” as well. However, the latter part of the video is dedicated to moving on. He wants to experience life, perform more, make new music, travel and live it up.

The music video for “Move On” shows snippets of videos from his personal life, including his father, himself, mother, his performances, his travels, playing basketball, and selfies of himself smiling and crying.
