The 2019 Oscar Award nominations have been released and a lot of big names from 2018 are on this coveted list. Today, The Academy revealed their top picks for over 20 categories of awards. Several movies with musical associations are in these 2019 Oscar nominations lists.
The most notable nomination would be ‘Actress In A Leading Role’ category by Lady Gaga for her role in ‘A Star Is Born’ motion picture. Co-starred by Bradley Cooper, this movie is also in the running for ‘Best Picture’ award, among a few other nominations. Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s collab song “Shallow” from the movie is nominated for ‘Music (Original Song)’ award.
The Queen biopic-‘Bohemian Rhapsody‘ is another major nominee at the 91st Academy Awards ceremony. Rami Malek who played Freddie Mercury of Queen is nominated for ‘Actor In A Leading Role’ award. Ramil Malek also won his first Golden Globe award for ‘Best Actor’ for the same movie role. The movie is also nominated for ‘Best Picture,’ ‘Film Editing,’ ‘Sound Editing’ and ‘Sound Mixing’ categories.
Another notable mention is the Black Panther movie, which is also in the lead for 2019 Oscar nominations list. The movie is in the run for ‘Best Picture’ among other categories such as ‘Production Design,’ ‘Sound Editing,’ ‘Sound Mixing,’ ‘Costume Design,’ ‘Music (Original Score)’ and “All The Stars” song by Kendrick Lamar and SZA from the movie soundtrack.
