Travis Scott – The Plan | Lyrics Meaning & Song Review

Travis Scott’s first-ever track solely done for a movie soundtrack just released today and it is as good as the movie it is from. The new release is titled “The Plan” and is part of the movie ‘Tenet.’

The movie ‘Tenet’ released worldwide on August 21, 2020, and expecting release in the United States on September 3, 2020. Directed by Christopher Nolan, the movie plot reads; “Armed with only one word, Tenet, and fighting for the survival of the entire world, a Protagonist journeys through a twilight world of international espionage on a mission that will unfold in something beyond real time” on IMDb. The movie is being well received around the world.

The song “The Plan” winds around a similar theme of the movie–plans, espionage, survival, pushing forward, and emerging victorious.

In the lyrics of the song, Travis Scott sings about his escape from his troublesome past. He recalls back to the time he did “whippets” a slang term for nitrous oxide gas. He admits this abuse set his life in reverse. Then he risked everything on his music and it panned out. His final thoughts on the recap of his life are: patience sells.

One key takeaway from the second verse on the track is how Travis Scott sets goals for himself; “I draw the line and cross it first.” This line teaches us goal setting for our own lives. Define your own limits and work hard and push hard to cross those limits. After all, personal growth exists beyond your comfort zone.
