“We’re Good” Lyrics Meaning and Song Review

In the first verse of the song, we come to know that Dua Lipa is not talking about an ex-boyfriend. They are still together. But at the same time, they couldn’t be further apart. She feels like she is on a deserted island, even when she is sitting right next to him.

Dua Lipa realizes that there is nothing to salvage in this relationship anymore. She would rather see them walk apart than endure this silent torture anymore. She knows that they gave it a real shot. But it was not meant to be.

The only thing the singer can now expect out of their relationship is to move on without causing much drama. She swears that she will tolerate it if she sees him with another woman. She only expects he would return the favor.

I think it’s pretty plain and simple, we gave it all we could
It’s time I wave goodbye from the window

However, in the bridge of the song, we come to realize that her expectations have gone down the drain. The ‘ex-boyfriend’ has started grudging against her now that she is trying to move on. This is the one thing she did not want out of their decaying relationship.

The sooner they let go of trying to mend broken bridges, the sooner they will find happiness. Let us hear what you think about this song in the comments below.
