In a Tweet, leading up to the release of the song, Bebe Rexha claimed “I’m gonna give the gays everything they want on this one song.” The song is about Bebe Rexha’s infatuation with a guy. She wants to be everything for this guy and asks him what is he willing to sacrifice for the prize.

The music video for “Sacrifice” is on a whole other level. We see a topless man being restrained by chains while Bebe Rexha works her magic on him. And by magic, we mean whipped and bloodied him. This is her food because she is a vampire of sorts. So, it makes sense for her to call him a ‘sacrifice.’ In another scene, we also see Bebe Rexha and her ‘clan’ in an underground party of sort and getting bathed in blood! This gives some serious ‘Blade‘ movie vibes from 1998.

The above lyric has two ideas intertwined. In one aspect, Bebe Rexha sings about love and how she wants to have a real connection with this guy. However, in reality, she literally wants to eat his heart out, according to the lore of the song!
