New Zealand-based singer and songwriter Lorde is finally ready for her third studio album titled ‘Solar Power.’ She released the title track of the album a week ago and announced the album, tracklist, and even an upcoming tour.
Lorde teased her upcoming album with a brand new single that is also titled “Solar Power.” In the artwork for the single, Lorde was seen bearing her buttocks underneath the sunlight. The song was dedicated to enjoying the warmth of the Sun on a beach–a topic that has been alien to most of us under the pandemic around the world.
The third studio album comes four years after Lorde’s 2017 sensation ‘Melodrama‘ album which produced hits such as “Green Light,” “Liability,” and “Hard Feelings/Loveless.”
Announcing the album, Lorde described the inspiration behind this sunny album; “The album is a celebration of the natural world, an attempt at immortalizing the deep, transcendent feelings I have when I’m outdoors,“ she said of the project. “In times of heartache, grief, deep love, or confusion, I look to the natural world for answers. I’ve learned to breathe out, and tune in. This is what came through.”
She further added the her inspiration behind the style of music in this album; “Obviously when making this album I did a deep-dive into ’60s, Flower Child culture. I wanted to understand the commune life, dropping out from society and trying to start again.”
