Ed Sheeran – Merry Christmas Ft. Elton John | Lyrics & Video Review

Ed Sheeran and Sir Elton John are here to spread the joy and happiness of Christmas with a brand new single and a very cheery music video. Aptly titled “Merry Christmas,” the song captures the essence of the holiday season and also attempts to heal some wounded souls.

Ed Sheeran’s first holiday single, “Merry Christmas” is part of the ‘= (Equals) (Christmas Edition)’ album, an extension to his fourth studio album ‘= (Equals).’ For Elton John, the song is included in his fifth collaborative album ‘The Lockdown Sessions.’ The song was written by both Ed Sheeran and Elton John.

All proceeds from the song will be donated to Ed Sheeran Suffolk Music Foundation and the Elton John AIDS Foundation. So play this song on repeat, buy it, and share it with your friends and family.

Ed Sheeran & Elton John “Merry Christmas” Lyrics Meaning and Song Review

Build a fire, fill a glass of wine, and gather around, Ed Sheeran and Sir Elton John are about to take us on a spirited journey.

I know there’s been pain this year, but it’s time to let it go
Next year, you never know

Ed Sheeran tries to take our minds away from the absolute chaos that has been unfolding in the world for two years now. Many friends and family members who joined Christmas dinners two winters ago, would not be joining us this year. And the chaos does not seem to stop yet. But can we just take our minds off of this for a month — for a few days?

Elton John jumps in to spread some love; “We’ve both known love, but this love we got is the bеst of all.” Life and death are inevitable. We should always be grateful for what we have and who we have around us. Love can come in many forms — parents, siblings, partners, and even pets.

Every year we grow up and grow stronger. Our love grows stronger no matter how few many are in our lives. It is the season to be happy and grateful.

All the family and friends are together where we all belong
Merry Christmas, everyone

Throughout the music video, we see Ed Sheeran running around in holiday costumes, singing, and dancing. Elton John, dressed in Christmassy clothing, plays the piano. There are cameos from Michael Macintyre, Big Narstie, and Jonathan Ross. Best of all, Ed’s wife Cherry Seaborn also makes an appearance in the video in the very last shot, dressed in all blue (when everyone else is in red). She is that special. All the music video sets are decorated with adorable and cosy Christmas decorations. All-in-all the entire music video is filled with what Christmas is all about — warmth and love.

When Sir Elton John says “My God, you look beautiful” you better believe it!
