The term ‘jaded’ usually refers to the lack of emotions towards something. In the context of the song, we are told that certain problems in their relationship went unaddressed and these pushed the couple to the brink of not caring about each other anymore. Looking back, Miley feels responsible for the breakup and regrets not actively trying.

In the first verse of the song, we hear a regretful singer reminiscing about the relationship that fell apart. She is finding it difficult to find closure from this relationship due to its nature it ended up. She has had some time to retrace her memory and evaluate what went wrong and where. And there are just too many of these issues to count.
Regardless of the number of mistakes, the biggest regret the singer has to live with is that she never took the time to address their issues. She never said sorry for anything she did wrong and he never bothered either. He used to drown his problems at the bar and she used to sit back and rage. When he was back, they never bothered to talk.

He did leave her behind in the end. But, to her, it feels as if he did not. Closure after a breakup is a really important thing for someone to move on. If not, one just has to suffer in the past. Miley finally apologizes for her share of mistakes when they were together. They both had a part to play in their journey toward being jaded with each other. But Miley feels partially responsible for his emotions as well. Maybe, she could have done things to keep the fire alive. Maybe, they could have visited places. In hindsight, and drowned in sorrow, she feels like there was a lot that she could have done to keep their romance alive. But when they actually needed to do something, both of them were too egoistic to just try.
Miley Cyrus knows there’s no coming back from this breakup now. He has moved on and so should she. It will hurt her more than anything to imagine him with another woman. But this is life. If you don’t treat them how they deserve to be treated, someone else will. This, however, does not mean you have to sacrifice your sanity for the sake of others.
