Track #06: Shake It Off
So we are up to the 6th track of the ‘1989’ album. This maybe the 6th track in the album, but ‘Shake It Off’ the first single of the album and the only song with a music video. ‘Shake It Off’ was first revealed at a 1989 Secret Session to her lucky fans. First they were given to listen to the audio and afterwards the video was shown and we got to know that Taylor danced off with her fans to this song.
Shake It Off is the perfect song to address all Taylor haters. It’s just perfect. It’s dancy, catchy, and the kind of track you can have on repeat.
Here’s the Shake It Off music video:
There are a lot of dance moves and Taylor said all her gym work and cardio workouts were to practice for this music video. It really is a high-octane, vibrant music video. There are cheerleaders, ballet dancers, hip-hop moves, Lady Gaga-like moves and many more.
Different appearances in Shake It Off [Credits: Pinterest: Abigail Shadows]‘Shake It Off’ is all about hot to face your enemies. How to respond to your haters and you don’t live to please others.
“
Cause the players gonna play, play, play, play, play
And the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate
Baby, I’m just gonna shake, shake, shake, shake, shake
I shake it off, I shake it off…”
What others say about you really doesn’t matter as long as you don’t turn back to respond to them. The moment you do that, the world will know that there is something you got to keep hidden.
Shake It Off is still going strong on the top charts even after almost two months of being released. It’s just plain catchy. As of now 220 million views have been registered on the music video on YouTube alone. Taylor Swift, Max Martin and Johan Karl contributed in writing this song.
