Watch Clean Bandit’s “Baby” Video Featuring Luis Fonsi with a Twist (Review)

Clean Bandit makes a return from her massive hit “Solo” featuring Demi Lovato, to tell a story of two lovers. The new single “Baby” features vocals by Marina and Luis Fonsi. The song was released along with a brand new music video, that explains the plot of the lyrics very well.

“Baby” is from Clean Bandit’s upcoming second studio album ‘What Is Love?’ The album also includes mega-hits such as “Symphony” featuring Zara Larsson, “Rockabye” featuring Anne-Marie and Sean Paul and “Solo” featuring Demi Lovato. The album is expected to drop towards the end of November 2018.

The new single “Baby” speaks of a love that has run its course, possibly, due to neither one’s fault. The surprising twist is that the woman running to crash the wedding is not really after the groom!

Marina Diamandis, the 33-year-old Welsh singer and songwriter, does an amazing vocal job on the new track along with Luis Fonsi. Fonsi is also the groom in the music video.

At a glance, it looks as if this is going to be another classic tale of ex-girlfriend ruining the happy couple about to be married. However, several flashbacks by the bride show us that she is still in love with her girlfriend. But her lover fell apart “through the cracks in my hands” says Marina.

Luis Fonsi’s Spanish verses in “Baby” roughly translates to his confession of love to his bride. He knows there is something up between his wife and her friend. But he assures that his heart is forever hers.

Would this marriage sustain? Hard to say. Marina says that she wishes she had met her girlfriend at another time and place. Probably referring to a time where gay marriages were legal and accepted.
