In the lyrics of the song, Selena Gomez is heard talking to an ex-boyfriend. She hopes that every time he is with another girl, he thinks about her. This is not a healthy wish. But she confesses that she has not been able to let him go in her mind and that she still loves him.
When she thinks about him, her days get longer (time slows down), nights get colder (from loneliness), and heartbeat louder (from the rush of the memories). However, she does not say this directly. She asks the ex if he feels as such.
Since she is still in love with him, she does not mind him coming running back to her, when he realizes that his new girl cannot give the things she gave him.
It is very unclear if this song is about Justin Bieber, Selena’s ex-boyfriend. Justin Bieber broke up with Selena Gomez in 2019 and married model Hailey Baldwin a few months after. However, the song was written in or before 2016.
