“Dynamite” Lyrics Meaning & Song Review

The song is a disco-pop track trying to do what disco music does best–make you feel extremely good and chill. We can’t help but notice feeling Bruno Mars vibes all over the track. The song sends a message about smiling through the hardships of life.

The intro and the first verse by Jungkook immediately put us in a good mood. He talks about waking up in the morning, having your cup of tea, and wearing your rock ‘n roll shoes to rock the day ahead. How do you take on the hardships of life? Like King Kong, the gorilla, who took on an entire US military by himself. He also gives a shout out to the famous English rock band The Rolling Stones, who were also pioneers in keeping fans in a good mood.

The infamous basketball player LeBron James also gets a shoutout in the lyrics, just because, why not. All of these references stimulates happiness in our minds.

The second verse by RM and j-hope, points out that life can be heavy at times, just like the bass of this track. But try and look at everything positively, and it might actually work.

In the chorus, Jungkook and Jimin sing about lighting up the night sky with their feel-good vibes and optimism. “Funk and soul” seems to be their recipe for a good time.

In the third verse by V and RM, the group talks about being intoxicated with music. They call it “medicine” for a good time. People truly connect with each other, even with strangers, on music, and especially on the dance floor. Music and dancing really do put all our worries away for a while. So why not more of that?

There is no arguments that “Dynamite” by BTS is a track capable to making you feel good immediately. So, kudos for the band for their attempt to relieve some heavy hearts with a sprinkle of positivity, disco, funk and soul on this track.
