Tyler, The Creator “Rah Tah Tah” Lyrics Meaning and Song Review

In the first verse of the song, the singer boasts about the successes he has had in life. His massive crib, his money, a fine lady by his side, and the top of the music charts, he is living life large. But this life does come with some pitfalls as evidenced by the singer’s scream to ‘roll up the windows.’ He is paranoid of something–maybe the paparazzi.

In the second verse of the song, the singer gets more assertive. He says that no one should have doubts about him–he is that guy! Females who want to accompany him better understand this fact and serve him as he deserves to be. And if these females don’t have their stuff together, they are not getting into his inner circle. He doesn’t want to be bothered by shallow women with nothing to add to his life. The select females who get into his inner circle are rewarded well as he calls himself a pleasure giver rather than a pleasure receiver–sexually.

In the third verse of the song, Tyler seemingly implies that he met a girl at a party while she was wearing white. This is likely a reference to the infamous ‘White Parties’ held by Puff Daddy, who is being investigated for trafficking charges at the moment. All of this is to imply that the girl Tyler picked up is a little freaky. At the same time, he might be disassociating with these parties and P. Diddy.

In the fourth and final verse of the song, Tyler further asserts his dominance in the game and boasts about his success so far. Most importantly, he says that you never reveal your strategies or next move. Never tell anyone where you are at or where you are going to be next. There are plenty of people out there who would do a lot to bring harm to you with this information.

Tyler ends the song by saying that some people he associates are really broke and would do anything to profit off of him. So, he is paranoid about who he deals with and rides with. This is a recurring theme throughout the album as well.
