Taylor Swift released a brand new music video for “Opalite” from ‘The Life of A Show Girl’ album on February 6, 2026, exclusively on Apple Music. A day later, the video was released on all streaming platforms.
“Opalite” music video is a storytelling masterpiece, much like many of Taylor Swift’s visual works. The video enlists some familiar names, such as Lewis Capaldi, Cillian Murphy, Domnhall Gleeson, Greta Lee, Jodie Turner-Smith, and late night show host star Graham Norton.
All of the above celebrities appeared on one of the late-night episodes of The Graham Norton Show, and Cillian Murphy jokingly says, “It is worth watching for Domnhall’s dancing alone,” to Domnhall for his new role in The Office spinoff series ‘The Paper.’ To this, Domnhall responds, “I’m hoping to get on a Taylor Swift music video.” Camera pans to Taylor Swift’s face of utter shoc,k and you can visibly see the idea get planted in Taylor’s head.
In the “Opalite” music video, Taylor Swift is initially best friends with a rock because that’s all the relationships she can sustain. A literal rock, that cannot run away from her, is her partner in life. Later, we see that Domnhall is friends with a cactus plant named ‘Stapler.’ Living an intimate life with a cactus plant is bound to give you some pricks, as evident by all the Band-Aids on Domnhall’s face.
In the music video, “Opalite” is a miracle spray potion that finds you love and happiness. And it works wonders as it connects Taylor Swift with Domnhall – the lonely girl and the lonely boy.
Jodie Turner-Smith is a fitness video girl from the 80’s VHS tapes. Taylor Swift works out at home to Jodie’s workout routines. Greta Lee makes a cameo as a singer on the MTV channel at the bar that Taylor Swift takes her rock on a date.
Lewis Capaldi plays the part of a mall photographer that Taylor Swift and Domnhall go to and captures some out-of-this-world couple photos. Graham Norton is an ‘Opalite’ spray bottle salesman in the same mall. Cillian Murphy makes a cameo as a poster in the mall as an ‘Opalite’ promoter.
