“Pretty Please” is the sixth track on Dua Lipa’s 2020 album ‘Future Nostalgia.’ In this track, Dua Lipa talks about the feelings of millions of butterflies fluttering in your stomach in those early stages of a relationship. She requests the guy to bear with her extreme excitement and to have some fun with her!

Dua Lipa’s second studio album ‘Future Nostalgia‘ had her experimenting with new kinds of music. This was clearly visible in the singles off the album such as “Don’t Start Now,” “Physical” and the title song of the album. The album is classic Dua Lipa!

Talking about the song with Apple Music, Dua Lipa said that “The song is about promising someone—or yourself—that you’re going to be really chill in the early stages of the relationship, but then realizing that ‘Yeah, that’s just not me.‘”

“Pretty Please” Lyrics Meaning & Song Review

In the lyrics of this song, Dua Lipa is heard talking to her new boyfriend. She is over the moon about this new found love and she wants to look ‘chill’ about it. But she is failing at this miserably. One touch by him makes her caving and crawling for more. And all her ‘chill’ goes out the window.

The song also contains a very sexual undertone as Dua Lipa invites this new boyfriend to clear her tension by putting her underneath his body. She even mocks him, “I swear I ain’t gonna break…,” to go rougher during this play.

Dua Lipa sugarcoats her boyfriend purring “pretty please” to give it to her every day because she needs attention and love.
