The video is directed by Mathew Cullen and produced by Danny Lockwood. The entire video takes place in a theme park and was identified as Six Flags Magic Mountain, California, “The Thrill Capital of the World.” It is quite amazing how the video took one of the most happiest places on the planet and used it to give a very important message.

The video keeps on emphasizing on the routine nature of our lives. Even at the theme park, where everything is fun and awesome, we still have to follow rules, we still have to follow gender divisions and so on. The lyric video of “Chained To The Rhythm” showed a hamster running endlessly on a hamster wheel and they adopted the same thing to this video. In the end Katy Perry gets on to a human sized hamster wheel and starts running, indicating that life has become an endless marathon behind everything that we hope and dream to achieve.
We believe Katy Perry has tried to convey an important message via the song while producing an upbeat and pop song. Kudos to that!
