cardi b be careful music video review lyrics

Cardi B is a Bride and a Widow in “Be Careful” Music Video (Review)

Cardi B has been having an impressive run since her Platinum selling hit “Bodak Yellow” and “Bartier Cardi.” She was nominated for 8 awards at Billboard Music Awards 2018, that happened last night and managed to win ‘Top Rap Female Artist’ courtesy of the above two singles. This award was won against contenders such as Nicki Minaj and Bhad Bhabie.

“Be Careful” is the third single off of Card B’s first studio album ‘Invasion of Privacy’ which was released in April, 2018. The single reached a peak of #11 on Billboard Hot 100 chart, and now stands at #26 after 11 weeks on the chart.

“Be Careful” is an aggressive address at her lover and husband. She talks about how she refuses to be cheated on again by this guy. She warns him to be careful, if he does anything behind her back.

Cardi B is seen in a gorgeous and massive wedding gown for half of the music video. It is her wedding day and there is a lot of explicit language thrown around in the church while the wedding takes place. All the attendees look expression-less and stunned.

“The only man, baby, I adore
I gave you everything, what’s mine is yours
I want you to live your life of course
But I hope you get what you dyin’ for
Be careful with me, do you know what you doin’?”

The other half of the music video unravels around the death of the husband. Cardi B is seen dressed in jet black, with black lipstick, black makeup, black hat, black gloves and a black veil. She looks absolutely stunning in these shots. She shows no sign of sadness or remorse at the funeral house and the attendees, again, follow a similar stance. Finally, she rides off into the sunset all by herself.

Dressed as a bride, colour white significies beauty, purity and beginnings, whereas, black at the death bed celebrates end, destruction and darkness. Within 4 minutes, the music video takes a complete turn of phase. The song and lyrics, however, stays dark from start till the end.

“Be Careful” music video certainly has a touch of artistry. We are in love with it.
