Splash of Motivation with “High Hopes” by Panic! At The Disco (Lyrics Review)

Posted on December 18, 2018December 18, 2018 By Adam McDonald No Comments on Splash of Motivation with “High Hopes” by Panic! At The Disco (Lyrics Review)

Panic! At The Disco’s new single “High Hopes” is an instant hit. This is one of those songs you can scream out loud and motivate yourself at the same time. The vocals by Brendon Urie, the lyrics, and the music video are a perfect combo for the song to be a #1 hit.

“High Hopes” track appears in Panic! At The Disco’s 6th studio album ‘Pray For The Wicked’ released on June 22, 2018. This album follows their high-selling album ‘Death of a Bachelor’ released in January 2016. ‘Pray For The Wicked’ album included another single “Say Amen (Satuday Night)” released in March 2018.

Releasing the “High Hopes” music video, the lead vocalist of the band, Brandon Urie, left a message to the fans;

“No matter how hard your dreams seem, keep going. You might even have to climb up the side of a building in downtown LA, but it’ll all be worth it at the top. Stay up on that rise…”

The song speaks about chasing your dreams no matter what the challenges and obstacles you may be faced. In the video, we see Brendon Urie climbing a skyscraper upright on his feet without any assistance. Maybe, he wanted to say that nothing is impossible if you set your mind to.

I spent too long not setting my expectations high enough, worried about how it felt to fail. I hit a point when I realized I had to aim high and fail, fail, fail in order to keep growing. This one is for all of you who helped me go for it all. I thank you.

The song is also an ode to Panic! At The Disco. Brendon Urie climbs the building to meet his fellow band mates on top of the building. Hence, the song could be subtly saying how P!ATD overcame struggles become one of the top bands in the modern era.

 “High Hopes” is filled with lines of motivations and encouragements, and the energy in the vocals is phenomenal.
