The Weeknd premiered a brand new song “Scared To Live” live on Saturday Night Live (SNL) yesterday. Check out the latest release from the ‘After Hours’ album below.
‘After Hours‘ is The Weeknd’s fourth studio album released on March 20, 2020. The album produced singles such as “Blinding Lights,” “Heartless,” title track “After Hours” and “Scare To Live” all throughout 2020. Abel himself called this album his ‘PSYCHOTIC CHAPTER’ at the reveal of the album.
The new song follows Abel’s 2020 singles “Heartless,” “Blinding Lights” and the album title track “After Hours.” In the new single, we find The Weeknd battered and broken down over a relationship that went south.

Lyrics Meaning of “Scared To Live” by The Weeknd
In the song, we learn of a relationship that failed with The Weeknd. The singer says that he tried to force her to love him when he first started seeing the red signs. However, love is something that cannot be instilled in a person. It is an intrinsic feeling. The Weeknd’s push made her crawl further away from their relationship until she forgot what love is.
So The Weeknd apologizes for trying to make her love him. He realizes that he could have ‘broken’ this girl emotionally. So Abel tells her that she should not be scared to ‘live’ again. She will heal and he asks her to give love another chance with whoever it may be.
