P!nk admits that she reached out to Eminem in Detroit and she is a huge fan of him. She calls him a lyrical genius, to which we agree wholeheartedly.
“I reached out to him in this case. I love him. I’ve always loved him. I think he’s a lyrical genius, and I just wrote him a love letter. I had written this song. I had went to the studio and drank a lot of wine, I wrote ‘Revenge.’
The birth of “Revenge” is coined as above by Pink herself.

“And then, I went home and drank more wine because that’s what you do when you’ve already drank a lot of wine – you think more wine is a good idea – and I wrote him an email and I said, ‘I love you. I’ve always loved you. I’ve loved you since you gave me your autograph at the 2001 MTV Music Video Awards. I love that you always work with the same people.’ I just wrote this love letter, and he just wrote back, ‘OK.'”
Further pondering about “Revenge” as a song, Pink calls it a funny and a fun song. So in a way we were misled by the title of the song. We expected a verbal attack from Pink and Eminem, like he did at the BET Awards, but we might end up finding Slim Shady than Marshall Mathers on this track.
Whatever said and done, we can expect an amazing musical work in the name of “Revenge” from Pink and Eminem.
Pink’s ‘Beautiful Trauma’ album drops in two days (Oct 13) and with it the Eminem collaboration too will release. We are holding our breath till Friday and we will break down the lyrics for you as soon as they are available.
