We have seen the skills of Ed Sheeran in covering a wide range of song and genres. Prime examples are “Drunk In Love” with Beyonce, “In da Club” cover of 50 Cent and even Britney Spears’ cover of “…Baby One More Time.” These three covers themselves show how much of a versatile artist Ed can be. Ed Sheeran covering Hailee Steinfeld’s hit single “Starving” is yet another prime example of his abilities.
Ed Sheeran appeared on Capital FM Live Sessions a year ago and there he performed some of his biggest hits and went on to cover Hailee Steinfeld and Zedd’s “Starving” just because he “just really likes it.” We can see how much he really likes this song and doing covers by the way he sets up his music. He makes use of his infamous ‘loop pedal’ skills to add background music to this cover.

Ed Sheeran has made little changes to the lyrics, and if you are a keen observer you will be able to spot them. Ed also removed the very minute bit of profanity in the lyrics from the original. Isn’t he a blessing on this world!
On the other spectrum of things, déjà vu happens. Hailee Steinfeld attended Coachella 2017 and performed a live cover of Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You.” Performing at a small outdoor stage to a very limited crowd, Hailee covered the song acoustically. She was assisted with an acoustic guitar which seemed eerily similar to Ed’s guitar music.
