Machine Gun Kelly – Hollywood Whore (Lyrics Review and Song Meaning)

Rapper Machine Gun Kelly (MGK) premiered a brand new track titled “Hollywood Whore,” returning from his infamous battle rap feud with Eminem which spawned songs such as “Rap Devil” and “KILLSHOT.”

The new song “Hollywood Whore” will be a part of Machine Gun Kelly’s upcoming fourth studio album ‘Hotel Diablo.’ MGK released the song on Twitter (on May 17, 2019) confirming the album titled as well; “had to release this song first off of Hotel Diablo. i needed the therapy.”

The song takes on the power of music labels and record companies of The USA and Hollywood in general. The word ‘Hollywood’ has become a phrase synonymous with greed, gluttony, sex, abuse, and power. MGK sings that it is easy to be manipulated by these things in hopes of stardom.

Machine Gun Kelly released a music video for the song on May 29, 2019, directed by Jordan Wozy. Watch the video below.

At the 2 minute 50-second mark, there is a split-second tribute to late vocalist legend Chester Bennington of Linkin Park. The letters flash “R.I.P Chester Bennington” across the screen.

Machine Gun Kelly also teased that the new album ‘Hotel Diablo’ will drop somewhere in June 2019, and that he will be dropping a new track every week since the album is out.
