Watch Ed Sheeran and Beyonce Perform “Drunk In Love” Acoustic Live

It is not very often that we get to see two superstars of complete different backgrounds performing together. Beyonce is known as the queen of Pop and Ed Sheeran is the soulful ginger with the acoustic guitar. “Drunk In Love” is one of Beyonce’s most famous works. The song is seductive, sultry and groovy. That in itself is not the ballpark of Ed Sheeran. However, Ed Sheeran was not to back down from an opportunity to perform live on stage with the Queen Bey.

The fans at the Global Citizen Music Festival 2015 were treated to a nice surprise when Beyonce walked on the stage with Ed Sheeran. Together, they performed a beautiful rendition of an acoustic cover of “Drunk In Love.”

“Drunk In Love” is Beyonce’s special track with her life partner Jay-Z. The song was originally released in 2013, in her self titled album.

Cigars on ice, cigars on ice
Feeling like an animal with these cameras all in my grill
Flashing lights, flashing lights
You got me faded, faded, faded
Baby, I want you, na na
Can’t keep your eyes off my fatty
Daddy, I want you, na na
Drunk in love, I want you

Being it an unusual territory for Ed Sheeran, we believe he handled it so well. In fact, Ed Sheeran is no stranger to new genres. He has covered “In Da Club” by 50 Cent, “Starving” by Hailee Steinfeld, “Hit Me Baby One More Time” by Britney Spears, “Take Me To Church” by Hozier and the list goes on and on. These are all songs from different artists of different calibres, but Ed Sheeran performed them acoustically and made them his own.

It might be just another performance for Ed Sheeran, but we love how long he has come from performing by the street corners.
