Alesso, the Swedish DJ, and producer, has been out of the EDM-scene for the better part of 2018 and his comeback single is “Remedy.” The new single does not really heavily on EDM but rather focuses on vocals and visuals. The vocals are performed by Conor Maynard. This is the first collaboration between Conor Maynard and Alesso.
The music video, directed by Rudy Mancuso, tells a story of a little alien crash-landing on Earth and goes seeking for the company of a friend. He obviously does not find a friend or a way back from Earth until he attends an Alesso concert. There he finds a similar alien lost and both get back on the alien spacecraft and fly home. The video includes a few really aesthetic shots of scenery in Hollywood.
The song “Remedy” is written by a group including Jake Torrey, Ian Franzino, Andrew Haas, Alma Gudmundsdottir and Alesso himself.

The lyrics to the song are very simple and straightforward. The theme of the song barely relates to the music video, as the lyrics narrate a story of love.
The lyrics to “Remedy” speak about a broken heart, who has loved and lost. The singer’s life seems to be falling apart around him and future looks bleak. He does not even realize how broken he is until he finds the missing piece-her.
The song goes on to say that the singer is fading away in loneliness and the cure is this woman.
