Watch Adam Lambert and Queen Open 2019 Oscars with “We Will Rock You” and “We Are The Champions”

Brian May of Queen and Adam Lambert had one of the most tantalizing performances in an awards ceremony with their opening act at the 2019 Oscars held on February 24, at the Dolby Theatre in California.

The current lead singer of Queen-Adam Lambert and a founding member of Queen-Brian May delivered an epic medley of two of the biggest songs by the legendary Rock band Queen. It was clear that the performance was in dedication to the late lead singer of Queen-Freddie Mercury. As Adam Lambert and Brian May took their bows, an image of Freddie Mercury appeared in the background, which left everyone touched.

The star-studded audience rose to their feet and sang along with Adam Lambert as he performed “We Will Rock You” and “We Are The Champions” live at the 2019 Oscars Awards ceremony. These are two of Queen’s most successful songs from their entire discography. While Adam Lambert mustered a lot of energy to be on par with Freddie’s performances, Brian May performed a beautiful guitar solo.

This performance by Queen and Adam Lambert in tribute to the late great Freddie Mercury was a timely necessity. The Queen-tribute movie of Freddie Mercury’s life ‘Bohemian Rhapsody‘ was nominated for a handful of awards at the Oscar Awards 2019. The movie may have lost the ‘Best Picture’ category, but produced the ‘Best Actor in a Leading Role‘ winner for Rami Malek who portrayed Freddie Mercury in the movie. ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ movie also won several other awards for sound editing and engineering.

Brian May and Adam Lambert received a standing ovation from the A-listers in attendance. Much deserved, don’t you think?
