However, another major spectacle was when Ariana Grande appeared on a darkened stage to perform her record-breaking hit single “7 rings” from her latest album ‘thank u, next.’ Ari and her pink-squad delivered an energetic performance to kick life into the crowd.
The fans in attendance kept up with Ariana Grande throughout every lyric of the song. There were high-heeled backup dancers and graffiti artists on stage. That extra-large moon bouncing off in the background certainly added some flavour to the visuals.
“7 rings” marked an important milestone in the trilogy of singles released from her fifth studio album ‘thank u, next.’ Inspired by breakup and heartache, courtesy of death of ex-boyfriend Mac Miller and Pete Davidson, ‘thank u, next’ was becoming an album of sorrow and sadness. “7 rings” took a spin on this theme, and talked about friendships.
The backstory behind “7 rings” states that one drunk night Ariana Grande bought 7 diamond rings to her friends and herself. The song also speaks about Ari’s fame and fortune has allowed her to acquire anything she sets her mind to.
One thing special about Ariana’s live performance at the Billboard Music Awards 2019 is that her vocals sounded as good as she was in a studio. Impressive!
